 The other contender, the Nissan Frontier V-6, also develops a mere 281 pound-feet. The only true challenger in this context would be the diesel Colorado with 369 pound-feet of torque.

2019 Ranger has a maximum payload capacity of 1,860 pounds. This is significantly higher than the segment standard of 1,500 pounds. The maximum capacity was the Colorado, with 1,574 pounds.
 Ranger comes with a maximum towing capacity of 7,500 pounds with the towing package and trailer brake controller. The next best is the gasoline-powered Colorado, which has a maximum towing capacity of almost 7,000 pounds. The Toyota Tacoma and Nissan Frontier both have maximum towing ratings of about 6,700 pounds.

The coming  2019 Ram 1500 will continue offering the 3.6-liter V-6 and the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8, and there will be both eTorque and traditional options. There is no new so far if last year’s 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 will be returning.

The 3.6-liter V-6 that will be the base engine on most models of the 2019 Ram 1500 will offer 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque, which is the same as the previous year. However, thanks to eTorque, this engine will be able to deliver up to 90 more pound-feet of torque in short bursts (which translates to 359 pound-feet of torque available).
